Charity and Community
NX Courier are proud to support charity and community in the local areas. From our Northampton base, we support a local charity and also participate in events within the community.
We are proud to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association), a Northampton based charity who support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Take a look on this page for more information about what MND is, what the Motor Neurone Disease Association does and the fundraising activities we are getting involved in here at The NX Group!
What is Motor Neurone Disease?
MND affects the brain and spinal cord, attacking nerves that control movements so that muscles are no longer able to work. The disease leaves people living with MND unable to move, talk, and swallow. It affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. To find out more about Motor Neurone Disease, take a look at the key information sheet here
Why is Motor Neurone Disease Association our chosen charity?
We have been supporting MND Association for over 9 years, this is a charity close to our hearts and we want to help raise vital funds and awareness. Our Courier fleet showcase the MND Association branding to help raise awareness whilst out on the roads making collections and deliveries throughout the UK. We want to support those living with MND, therefore our fundraising is put towards supplying equipment to help improve the quality of life of those affected.
Last year a team of NX employees organised a sponsored cycle ride from our offices to London, raising an incredible £2000! This year we have set a target of £5000, with a range of fundraising activities planned in for throughout the year, from cake sales to more extreme sports! Follow everything we get up to via our blog posts here.
